Hokusai Sumida River Print

Exclusive to the British Museum, a print featuring a two women standing by the Sumida River by Katsushika Hokusai.

This print forms part of a range accompanying the British Museum exhibition Hokusai: The Great Picture Book of Everything.

The print features an image taken from Hokusai’s series Toto shokei ichiran (Fine Views of the Eastern Capital at a Glance, 1800). The book is one of two volumes which feature images of Edo (now Tokyo), accompanied by kyoka verses.
