Handmade in Mexico by Peyote People, a large beaded skull ornament in assorted vibrant designs.

The skull is crafted from resin and is hand-decorated with glass beads, which are adhered to the ornament with a cera de Campeche blend of natural Mayan beeswax and resin. Each ornament features a different array of colours and patterns, making the skull a truly unique decoration.

The skull is a fine example of Huichol Indian art. Please note, due to the nature of these incredible ornaments, each skull’s colours will differ from the illustration.

About Peyote People and the Huichol Indians:

The Huichol Indians live deep in the Sierra Madre Mountains of Western Mexico. Very little is known about the exact origins of the Huichol, but today they retain a set of customs and beliefs that make them one of the best-preserved Pre-Colombian tribes in the Western Hemisphere. Bright and colourful bead art is one of their cultural traditions, and these exquisite skills display the charms of this art form.

Peyote People is a fair trade co-operative based in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, the home of the Huichol Indians. It is recognised for its commitment to promoting Huichol Indian artwork and preserving their customs and traditions.

An extraordinary home gift for any lover of vibrant colours and patterns.
