Washi is traditional Japanese paper handmade from the long inner fibres of specific plants, most commonly the kōzo bush. The word translates as Japanese (wa) Paper (shi) and the tradition has been in practice for more than 1,400 years.

Crafted in Japan, the earrings are made from washi paper in an assortment of colours and designs, which will vary from the illustrations shown. The fixtures are made from hallmarked 925 sterling silver hooks, and the paper is finished with a lacquer glaze for protection.
