The second and final publication of the British Museum’s fieldwork at Kom Firin - an archaeological mound in Egypt.

An essential reference work for Egyptologists and archaeologists, this hardback title presents key findings from the western Nile Delta, a little-explored yet strategically important area of Egypt. These are the concluding results of an excavation funded by the British Museum, an active participant in research and fieldwork in Egypt.

This particular volume focuses on two principal areas of the excavations at Kom Firin: inside the north- eastern corner of the New Kingdom enclosure and an area of Saite occupation comprising a pottery production area. The book also offers a detailed discussion of artefact assemblages, faunal remains, the ancient landscape and a chapter on modern Kom Firin.

Neal Spencer is Keeper of the Department of Ancient Egypt and Sudan at the British Museum and was Director of the British Museum excavations at Kom Firin. Since 2008, he has directed the British Museum fieldwork at Amara West, administrative capital of Upper Nubia in the Ramesside era.
