A jewelled case in the shape of a vase, based on an original antiquity from ancient China. The case measures 11cm tall.

It is based on a fine porcelain vase that currently resides in the Shanghai Museum from the Qianlong Reign during the Qing Dynasty (1736-95). The vase is decorated with a gold-traced design of lotus, Riyi flower and interlaced lotus flower (symbols for fortune) on a sky-blue glazed background.

It has an unusual shape with a straight rim, a short neck, sloping shoulders and curved sides tapering with a ring foot, on top of which is a pearl-shaped knob.

This piece, made by Shanghai Museum Art Company, replicates the original using special craftsmanship techniques.
