Medieval Heart Earrings

<p>A pair of gold plated heart shaped earrings inspired by the heart-shaped brooch which was found at the Fishpool Hoard. <br /> <br /> It is thought to have been deposited some time between winter 1463 and summer 1464, during a rebellion against the Yorkist king Edward IV (reigned 1460- 83) on behalf of the Lancastrian Henry VI, in the first decade of the Wars of the Roses (1455-85). <br /> <br /> The earring design remains faithful to the original brooch, which was embellished with twisted bands set within a beaded border and alternately enamelled in blue and white.</p> <p><em>Please note that  pierced earrings cannot be returned, except in case of fault.</em><br /> <br /> The original is on display in the Museum's collection in Room 40. Exclusive to the British Museum, a pair of gold-plated heart-shaped earrings, inspired by the original brooch that was found as part of the Fishpool Hoard, now housed at the Museum.

The design of these earrings remains faithful to the original brooch, which is embellished with twisted bands set within a beaded border, and alternately enamelled with blue and white. It is thought to have been deposited sometime between the winter of 1463 and Summer of 1464, during a rebellion against the Yorkist king Edward IV (r. 1460-1483) by supporters of the Lancastrian Henry VI, in the first decade of the Wars of the Roses (1455-1485).

The brooch can be seen on display in the British Museum.
