A magnet inspired by Mimi-chan, a character created by the manga artist Kōno Fumiyo.

Kōno Fumiyo graphically explains how to read manga through its coded symbols (called manpu in Japanese) in recently published book Giga Town. She has wittily untangled these symbols, explaining each in a four-panel (yonkoma) strip.

It features a few lovable characters such as Mimi-chan a plucky white rabbit, and Aoi-kun, her frog friend to act out scenes that represent each manpu.

Mimi-chan makes an appearance throughout the British Museum’s major exhibition Mangaas a bespoke mascot avatar.
