Exclusive to the British Museum, a pendant necklace inspired by a 19th century pansy-shaped brooch.

This delicate gold-plated necklace has been set with Swarovski crystals, and takes its design from a brooch now housed in the British Museum’s collection.

The original gold brooch was crafted c.1840-1850 and is set with amethyst and citrine stones in the shape of the pansy flowers. The name ‘pansy’ is taken from pensées for ‘thoughts’, and pansies were popular romantic motifs in mid-19th century jewellery, and were used to show that the recipient was being thought of.

A charming gift for a loved one.
