A pair of gold plated Roman carnelian stone drop earrings.

The striking original earrings, delicately crafted of gold, feature large glass cabochons and twin dangling pendants adorned with elongated beads. It is thought that they were made in the second century A.D. or later in Rome.

These distinctive earrings accented with carnelian are inspired by the originals, which are on display at the Metropolitan Museum, New York.

A pair of drop earrings with carnelian stones, inspired by an original ancient Roman design.

These vibrant earrings are plated in 24 carat gold, feature round carnelian stones above rope pendants adorned with carnelian beads. The design is based on an original pair of 2nd century gold earrings now housed in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.

The lively orange-red stone carnelian was a very popular choice for Roman jewellery, and was believed to have spiritual powers. Carnelian stones were often carved into incredibly detailed gems for intaglio rings

A delightful gift for ancient history lovers.
