Inspired by the British Museum’s collection of ancient Roman artefacts, the duck wears the recognisable armour of a Roman soldier, including the iconic red horse-hair crest. It has been designed in collaboration with the Museum’s curators, ensuring that the soldier’s costume is historically accurate.

The Roman army are acknowledged as one of history’s most well-organised and effective military outfits. The army, led by centurions, were known to be militant and brutal, and their discipline helped Rome become the world’s greatest empire.
