A fridge magnet inspired by the stunning ancient Egyptian mummy-mask of Satdjehuty.

This vibrant magnet is based on an 18th Dynasty mummy which dates to around 1500 BC and is housed in the British Museum. The mask is believed to belong to a woman named Satdjehuty, and features a gold-plated face framed by wings and a vulture headdress on top of a rich blue wig; below the face, a white torso bears two columns of hieroglyphs.

The mask was originally discovered with pieces of fine linen which were inscribed with Satdjehuty’s name, described as “one who is praised” by Queen Ahmose-Nefertary, the wife King Ahmose I (r.1550-1525 BC), suggesting Satdjehuty was in favour in the ancient Egyptian royal court.

A beautiful souvenir of the British Museum’s ancient Egyptian galleries.
