Sutton Hoo Belt Buckle Replica

An outstanding replica of the belt buckle discovered as part of the Sutton Hoo ship burial.

This impressive replica is crafted from brass and is presented in a gift box. The buckle is based on the gold Anglo-Saxon belt buckle discovered at the Sutton Hoo site, which features an intricate, zoomorphic design in swirling patterns, and is now housed in the British Museum.

Sutton Hoo is an important archaeological site in Suffolk, England, where an astonishing ship burial was discovered in the late 1930s. Archaeologist Basil Brown discovered an extraordinary hoard of treasures at the great mound, including the belt buckle, the iconic helmet, jewellery and swords. The estate’s owner, Mrs Edith Pretty generously donated the contents of the find to the British Museum.
