A gold-plated pendant necklace inspired by an ancient Greek coin from the city of Thebes with an amphora vase design.

The necklace is crafted in the UK from bronze dipped in 22 carat gold and is finished with deep red-coloured glass beads. The design is inspired by ancient Greek coins, and incorporates a Hellenistic volute krater amphora vase (a drinking vessel) below a lotus flower, and between Greek letters. The coin has been designed to appear aged.

Amphora vases are ceramic storage jar characterised by their narrow neck, wide shoulders and pointed base. Amphorae have been in use for thousands of years, but are most commonly associated with the ancient Greeks and Romans.

A modern gift inspired by ancient history.
