A hand-crafted pewter necklace inspired by Viking jewellery.

The pendant is inspired by Thor's Hammer amulets which were widely worn by the Vikings. According to their traditions Thor, the god of thunder, wielded a mighty hammer called Mjollnir. The hammer had special properties: when thrown at an enemy it returned magically to Thor and the strike of the hammer caused thunderclaps, and no enemy was able to withstand the hammer's wreath.

This reproduction piece forms part of a collection of jewellery from the British studio, St Justins, available to accompany the Vikings exhibition. Each piece is crafted by hand in Cornwall, in the South West extremity of Britain.

Ideal as a gift, the necklace is supplied in a velvet presentation box.
