<p>Exclusive to the Museum: a tote bag inspired by John Tenniel’s illustrations for the world-famous novel Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.</p> <p>Lewis Carroll’s iconic novel has had an integral influence in Japanese culture which has led to several manga versions being created.</p> <p>In the Museum’s major exhibition <em><a href="https://www.britishmuseum.org/whats_on/exhibitions/manga.aspx">Manga</a>,</em> there is a a digital print display of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland with a copy of an original work by Lewis Carroll and selected Japanese manga versions.</p>

The print includes images of Alice, the Mad Hatter and the White Rabbit, on a 100% cotton machine-washable tote.

Lewis Carroll (1832-1898) was born in Cheshire, England. Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland was published in 1865, and Through the Looking Glass appeared in 1872. Original prints of Alice's adventures can be found in the Museum's collection.
