Exclusive

Exclusive to the British Museum, a striking wooden postcard inspired by Japanese Edo-era kabuki theatre.

This gorgeous postcard has been made from FSC certified wood, and includes space on the reverse for a message, address and postage stamp.

The image is based on the print Yaoya Musume Oshichi Dozaemon Denkichi (1851), by Japanese artist Utagawa Kuniyoshi (1797-1861). The fabulous print shows kabuki actors Bando Shuka I as the character Oshichi, and Ichikawa Danjuro as Dozaemon Denkichi from the play Koimoyou Furisode Myoto. An original copy of the woodblock print is now housed in the collection of the British Museum.

A fabulous souvenir for a lover of Edo-period art.
