A window transfer representing the Virgin of Guadalupe.

This transfer forms part of a range accompanying the British Museum exhibition Feminine power: the divine to the demonic.

The window transfer is made in the UK and is easy to position and re-position during use. The image shows the figure of Mary dressed in a long blue mantle, standing on a crescent moon being supported by a cherub. The golden rays of a mandorla emanate from behind her and the image is encased in a colourful border.

The Virgin of Guadalupe first appeared in Tepeyac, now Mexico City, in 1531 when she visited a peasant named Juan Diego and asked him to build a church there. When proof of her identity was demanded by the bishop of Mexico City, the Virgin caused flowers to bloom out of season, and imprinted her image on Diego’s cloak. The church, now known as the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe, was built to house the cloak, and is now one of the most visited Catholic sites in the world.

A stunning home gift.
